Howard, Is published weekly, (every Friday,) at TWO DOLLARS per year, (or 52 num bers,) if paid in advance Two Dollars Fifty Cents, if paid within the subscription year or, Three Dollars at the expiration of the year for any period less than a year, Tvtenty-five Cents per month. Subscribers at liberty to discontinue at any time on pay ing arrears. Subscribers residing at a dis tance must invariably pay in advance, or give a responsible reference in this vicinity. No subscription discontinued unless a noti fication to that effect is given. Advertisements, not exceeding 16 lines; will be inserted at 50 cents the first inser tion, and 25 cents each continuance. Long er ones at that rate for every 16 lines. Ad vertisements must be marked the number of insertions required, or they will be con tinued until otherwise ordered. Howard, TNFORMS the ladies of Edgecombe and vicinity, that she has opened, in the house immediately opposite the Batik in Tarborough, a handsome as sortment of FANCY GOODS, suitable for fall and winter wear, which they are respectfully invited to call and examine among them are Pattern silk, satin and velvet Bonnets, of the latest Northern fashions, Leghorn Flats, assorted numbers, Fine and coarse straw Bonnets, Silks and satins, plain and figured, Gros de Naples, different colors, Black mode, velvet, and crape, Florences, liece, gauze and sinchews, Lutestring, satin and gauze ribands, Superior bobinett caps and capes, Curls, caps, and turbans, Beaded and spangled wreaths, flowers and sprigs, new and elegant articles, Black and white Ostrich feathers, Feathered, velvet, and down flowers, Bunches and wreaths of flowers, Coral ear-drops and necklaces, Fancy reticules, pin-cushions, &c. The above articles were purchased this fall in the Northern cities, and will be sold on favorable terms. R ANA WAY from the Sub scriber in August, 1827, a ne gre man, ISA AC. between thirty-five and forty years old, five feet 8 or 10 inches hish, stout built, very sensible, ralher slow spoken. Isaac was raised in Edgecombe county, N. 0. by Frederick Philips,and by him sold to the subscriber. I suppose that he is lurking in Edgecombe. The above reward will be given for his apprehen sion, if secured in any of the jails of this State so that I get him. JOHN PURCELL. Robeson County, N. C. 0 Jan. 26, 1829. 5 J4-13 SfflK GRAY HUNTER, A BEAUTIFUL Iron Gray, five feet two and a half inches high, now se ven years old, in hiffh health and spirits, and possessing great muscular strength and activity, will stand the present season at my Stables in Halifax county, ten miles west of VA wards s lerry, hlteen miles from Ha lifax town, and two miles from Dawson's Cross-Roads, and will be let to mares at the moderate price of FIVE DOLLARS the lean, EIGHT Dollars the season, and FIFTEEN Dollars to insure a mare to be in foal; with twenty-five cents to the Groom in every instance. The sea- son will commence the 16th day of Feb ruary and end the 1st of Auaust.
